*This campaign was created as an entry for Cannes Young Lions Greece 2023, responding to a brief from Thalpos, a Greek nonprofit mental health organisation, to destigmatise seeking professional mental health support.

In Greece, mental health issues are widespread. But stigma runs deeper. Instead of seeking professional support, people suffer in silence, managing on their own, convinced they can fix themselves with quick solutions and life hacks. The challenge for Thalpos? Destigmatise therapy and inspire people to take that crucial first step toward real help.

Here’s the problem: when people are struggling mentally, they rarely admit they need therapy. They don’t search for “therapist near me” or “mental health support.” Instead, they search for Band-Aids. Sleep supplements for insomnia. Concentration pills for brain fog. Energy gums for exhaustion. Spotify playlists for anxiety. Endless TikTok hacks promising instant relief.

These quick fixes soothe symptoms temporarily, but they ignore the real problem underneath. And that’s exactly where we decided to meet them.

We created a fake brand called goodnightinc. - a wellness company selling products that promised instant mental health relief. Sleep supplements. Focus pills. Stress gums. We promoted them everywhere people were already looking: Google Ads targeting symptom-related searches, Instagram posts, Spotify playlists curated for relaxation and sleep.

The branding was perfect. Pastel colors. Calming aesthetics. Exactly what someone chasing relief would click on.

But when people landed on the goodnightinc. website, ready to buy their way out of their symptoms, they didn’t find a checkout page. Instead, they found a question: “Maybe the solution you’re looking for isn’t a supplement. Maybe it’s something else?”

A gentle nudge. A moment of reflection. And then, a discreet path to professional mental health resources through Thalpos - no judgment, no pressure, just an invitation to explore real support.

We turned symptom-chasing into self-awareness. We met people in their denial and guided them toward the truth: that treating symptoms is temporary, and only through professional help can they get to the true cause.
